Loukmades.
A special greek dessert. Top with chopped nuts and honey.
Directions:
Dissolve yeast with a little warm water (I add 1 tsp sugar also)
Combine water and milk, add beaten eggs, yeast and salt. Add enough flour until it drops from a wooden spoon in lumps. (I never measured the flour, use about 3 cups at least I would estimate).
Let this mixture rise in a warm area. It takes 2-3 hours before you are ready to fry.
Heat a lot of oil in a medium size sauce pan.
Drop spoonfuls into the heated oil and watch carefully while cooking. Turn frequently until they are brown. Drain in a bowl on paper towels.
Serve warm with honey, chopped nuts and powdered sugar.
Ingredients:
1 package yeast
1 tsp. sugar
3 cups warm water
1 cup milk
1 Tbsp. salt
