Grandma’s Custard Pie.

Directions:

Heat 2 cups of milk until lukewarm.

Mix 3 egg yolks and 6 tbsp. sugar. Add 2 tbsp. flour, 2 tbsp. corn starch and pinch of salt. Add another 1/2 cup of milk a little at a time until you create a smooth paste.

Add mixture to warm milk, stir over low heat until thick.

Take off stove, add 1 tsp vanilla. Add to pie crust. Let is sit covered.

Make meringue, put on top and brown in oven at 375F. Watch carefully!

  • Pie Crust

  • 2 1/2 cups whole milk

  • 3 eggs separated

  • 6 tbsp. sugar

  • 2 tbsp. flour

  • 2 tbsp. corn starch

  • pinch of salt

  • 1 tsp. vanilla

  • Meringue: Beat egg white and sugar to stuff peaks. Basic meringue recipe.
